Youthful Essence

These days, it seems that nearly every beauty treatment on the market is promoted by an ageless celebrity. While the celebrities certainly help to generate publicity and recognition for a product, it’s more important to focus on the ingredients and the technical aspects in order to make an informed decision. Youthful Essence, marketed by Susan Lucci, is no exception. The product is hailed as an in-home spa treatment that rejuvenates the skin and whisks away wrinkles and other signs of aging, for a fraction of the cost of a professional spa treatment. How does it work, and what are the main ingredients?

Youthful Essence is a micro-dermabrasion system. Simply put, it is supposed to sand away the top layer of skin, therefore serving to even out skin tone and smooth the skin (reducing the appearance of wrinkles). The cream contains mineral crystals and antioxidants, which exfoliates and nourishes the skin. Some of the ingredients include micronized crystals, vitamin C and E, water, safflower seed oil, wheat germ oil, carrot root extract, wheat germ extract, wheat bran extract, and beta carotene. Sold as a system, the product is supposed to provide spa-quality treatments from the convenience of home. The system also comes with a resurfacing tool, for exfoliating, that can be used for the entire body.
